Raw cotton is the natural form of the fiber, before it has been processed or treated in any way. It is typically white or cream in color, and it is composed of long, fine strands that are intertwined together. Raw cotton is often harvested by hand, using a tool called a cotton picker, which removes the fibers from the cotton plants. Once the raw cotton has been harvested, it is typically bale into large, dense blocks. These bales are then transported to a cotton gin, where the fibers are separated from the seeds and other plant material. From here, the cotton fibers are cleaned, sorted, and spun into yarn, which is then used to make a variety of products.
